Hello there, welcome to VA Psychology Center!

I’m Dr. Vanessa von Auer, a Clinical Psychologist, Special Needs Educator, Relationship and Parenting Expert. Over the past 15 years, I have had the privilege to help individual clients and families overcome some of the most challenging stages in their lives.

Having grown up as an Eurasian Third Culture Kid (TCK), I understand the intricacies of Western and Asian cultures, and have had the pleasure of supporting people from all walks of life. It is an honor to be able to be part of my clients' individual journeys toward empowerment, resilience and happiness!

My extensive clinical background stems from my time working both in the public and private sectors. I founded the VA Psychology Center (VAPC) in 2008, which provides therapeutic services to children, teenagers, adults and families. Shortly after, I also founded the Integrated International School, one out of only two international schools to offer both mainstream and special education. I am qualified to conduct psycho-educational/diagnostic assessments to help identify and diagnose disorders and learning difficulties.

In addition, I consulted as a Senior Psychologist at the Child Development Unit, at the National University Hospital (CDU @NUH) for 3.5 years. I have also had the privilege of being featured in a multitude of television, radio and print media releases for my expertise.

I believe that every child and adult has the potential to lead a happy, fun and fulfilling life! I’ve spent my career helping parents learn effective parenting strategies, helped children process their emotional difficulties in healthy ways and watched families grow closer in their dynamics with one another. My other treatment areas include helping individuals with adjustment/expatriation difficulties, anxiety disorders, anger management, chronic pain, grief, infertility, stress management, as well as couples, marriage and family therapy. I use an integrative approach to my counseling sessions, which consists of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Expressive Therapy approaches. All of my sessions are conducted in English (all clients) and if requested, German (children only).

We are happy to complete any insurance documents you require.
